Hum: GPS Family Locator App Reviews

They tow the first 10 miles for free and every mile after that is $4.25 each. This is not the issue since I knew this before I set up my account. The issue is they will choose the longest possible route to be able to get the most money out of you and simply say they only go by what their system says. I had to have my car towed to the shop which when I looked it up was said to be 16 miles away when I called Hum they said it was 22 miles away so they would be charging me for the additional 12. I had no other option so I agreed. But when I got the receipt from the Tow company it said it was only 17 miles. So I called Hum hoping they would correct the error but they said No because it doesnt matter what the tow company actually did it only matters what their computer says. Which is complete BS by the way! They just want to get the most money possible. Needless to say Im done with Hum besides you can only do 4 service calls in a year!

I havent been able to get the app to work for my secondary user. It crashes as soon as you try to locate. I have 2 vehicles and it takes way too many steps to switch vehicles in the app. The boundary setting for alerts is very kluge. Most of the additional features are not up to par. The only reason Im keeping it is because the basic of finding vehicle works for primary user. Since its Verizon Im expecting them to quickly resolve these things.

After the last update I am unable to log in to the app. I am not even able to access the box in order to type my email and password

This app and service is an absolute joke. Now Im gonna take it back to Verizon so they can charge me $35 to restock their garbage product that didnt work. Dont buy Hum and dont get involved in this. In less than one week Ive had more problems that I can imagine and the 24 hour customer service is a lie! Hum is the lazy guy sitting in the backyard thinking up ideas who never actually makes them. What a great concept, what terrible execution. So frustrated that I have to take it back and lose my $35 because it was in the contract. Well, where in the contract does it say that they were going to charge me for a faulty and useless piece of junk? If I can do one good thing today its warning you to not buy Hum.

I sign in.. Then get my engine health report, the next day I get an alert... But even after I save always stay log in.. It signs me out with an error message. How can you say fixed bug issues but not fix this ongoing issue? Good thing I got 12 months left.. Cuz its going in the trash

The basic functions that make any app remotely serviceable DONT WORK. Im not kidding; you cant sign in! There is nothing remotely functional on this app. Its like they let goats design it. Heres the best part: since my wife signed up for this boneheaded app, she would get the email notifications, like how fast I drive. Yeah, Im more likely to actively stick needles in my eyes than keep using this app.

Ive had this device for about 2 weeks now, and it is mostly what I expected. It provides decent vehicle diagnostics, although they are very high-level stats. My car doesnt have any mechanical issues so I cant speak to the diagnostic/code reading features. My one big complaint, and its a big one, is that the Bluetooth does not automatically reconnect to my phone when I return to my vehicle. Sometimes I have to toggle the power on the speaker, but I usually have to "Forget This Device" on my iPhone 6SE and then go through the pairing process all over again. Even then, the speaker doesnt always pair with my phone. This is really annoying given that one of the main reasons I purchased the Hum is to add hands-free capability to my older vehicle. Updated on 9/9: New app update. Now I cant even log in. I cant select the box to enter my email and password. So, its basically useless at this point.

More than satisfied with the app. it helped me locate my car many times and helps monitor my childs driving behavior.

Excellent app. Easy setup and very easy to use. It surprising how easy it is to get so much information about the car with such ease. No more have to pay the shop exorbitant fee just to "diagnose". I like that I can have Emergency assistance for my old car that did not come with this built-in.

The Hum has been a lifesaver. Since having it installed in my car, I have already used it twice. It found out I low voltage problem that was a result of needing a battery. I was able to us my app to get a jump and a discount on the product

Super easy to use, install was quick, the guy at Verizon installed it for me,and now Im covered. I thought it was such a good ideas I got one for my mom and dad. Thanks Verizon

Updated to iOS10 and it will no longer let me sign in.

I literally cannot sign into this stupid app, so even if I had an issue with my car I couldnt even sign in to look at it. Not to mention, when you call Hum they cant even help you. This is the most worthless thing in the world. The only thing that is decent, is the hands free calling, only because my car does not have that feature. Verizon this is a waste of my money. I cant wait to get rid of it; anyone want a hum, I happen to have one for sale!

Doesnt work had it paired with my car and for 10 dollars a month I can buy my own device to read my car service numbers, do not buy hum by Verizon.

Very helpful in ensuring my kids safety. The speed alerts and boundary alerts are useful n provides some peace of mind. App is easy to use n no troubles so far.

Useful - I dont need to pay for AAA and get so many features- I can check everything about car. Helped me find a battery issue and saved.
